So what is a Living Memorial?

‘Whilst I still have air in my lungs
And shoes on my feet
I’m going to dance and sing
And let’s my heart set the beat.”

A Living Memorial is a ceremony for those who know they are nearing the end of their lives, and they would like to gather their loved ones together, in person, to celebrate their last season of life.

It’s a great opportunity to tell your loved one, in person, all the wonderful things you hold dear about them, reminisce and share both memories and funny anecdotes, hold them close, and celebrate their big brilliant life.

The shape of the ceremony is entirely up to you, and I will do everything I can to support and facilitate your vision for it. Alternatively, if you feel a little lost on where to start, I also have lots of ideas that I can suggest, and we can work together from whatever sounds good for you and your loved ones.

A Living Memorial can help both the people who are terminally ill and their families feel a little more in control during what is such a difficult time, and put the emphasis on celebration of life and legacy. It’s an opportunity for happiness and connection for friends and family to gather together and celebrate. It can help and soothe the grief for those remaining. It’s adding to your pool of memories with your loved one.

I will help you put together a beautiful ceremony that is reflective of the person, their community and it will reflect your wants and wishes, whatever that looks like for you. I will be the safe sounding board to support the people who would like to speak, assist them in either writing or choosing something to include, and it would be my honour to lead the ceremony on the day itself.

A full of heart Living Memorial ceremony includes

Getting to know you
An initial meeting with me either in person or via zoom.
We will have the space we need to get to know each other and discuss how you would like the ceremony to be.

Following our discussion
I will write the ceremony, adding in readings, music and speeches as you wish, and send you the script for your approval.
We can edit and adjust the ceremony to fit whatever shape you would like.

If you would find them helpful, I have a pool of ideas I can bring as a springboard.
Alternatively I am more than happy to follow your lead if you have a clear vision for the ceremony.

On the day of the ceremony
I will help you set up and welcome your loved ones as they arrive.
I will then host the ceremony, and guide those who would like to share something as we go along.

I promise it will be a precious moment, and delivered with care and heart.

Price: £400
